An abstract painting exploring texture on non-absorbent clay board surface. This little sun appeared as I was painting, and it was a delight to play along.
Because the binder of watercolor isn’t visible once it dries, you can really see the textures and interplay of pigment on the surface. For this reason, I haven’t framed this piece. The surface of this 5″ x 7″ board is buffed with an archival wax. It is ready to hang, or put on a small display easel once you find the perfect spot.
Materials: Ampersand clay board, watercolor.
All materials are archival, and lightfast.
On color accuracy: I do my best to accurately reflect the colors seen in person. However, there are many variables that can influence what you see on the screen, and you may even see something different on multiple screens. Please keep in mind there may be slight variations in color when viewed in person.
