Like Smoke in Water

It’s amazing to me the worlds that sometimes appear on the page when I paint intuitively. I needed a name that fit the whimsical, almost unreal nature of this piece. It conveys a feeling that’s much like the absurdity of smoke in water.

I like to see the textures and interplay of pigment on paper, so I’ve mounted this painting on an 9″ x 12″ cradled board that is 7/8″ deep. The sides of the board are painted a natural white to match the paper. The back is sealed to prevent warpage due to moisture, and the surface of the paper is lightly coated with an archival wax to preserve its texture. This is ready to hang once you find the perfect spot.

Materials: 100% cotton paper, and watercolor.

All materials are archival, and lightfast.

On color accuracy: I do my best to accurately reflect the colors seen in person. However, there are many variables that can influence what you see on the screen, and you may even see something different on multiple screens. Please keep in mind there may be slight variations in color when viewed in person.
